Yu Yureka vs Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G: Specifications and features compared
Yu is the latest smartphone company to make its debut in the Indian smartphone market. Backed by Micromax, the company yesterday launched the Yureka, which is priced at Rs 8,999 and will be on sale via Amazon India. The Yureka runs on Cyanogen OS 11 and is also the cheapest LTE capable smartphone in the country. As you would expect, it will compete against Xiaomi’s forthcoming Redmi Note 4G. Price
As far as the price is concerned, the Yureka will go on sale next month on Amazon India with a price tag of Rs 8,999. Xiaomi’s 4G variant of the Redmi Note, on the other hand, costs Rs 9,999.
Display
This round is a tie, as both the smartphones feature 5.5-inch IPS displays, with the same 720p resolution as well. The screen on the two devices is also protected by Gorilla Glass 3, so you won’t have to worry about scratches either.
Processor
The Yureka is powered by 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz. The Redmi Note, on the other hand, is powered by a Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz. As for memory, the processors on both the devices are paired with 2GB of RAM.
Camera
On the camera front, both the smartphones again feature similar offerings. Both the handsets have 13-megapixel shooter on the back, and a 5-megapixel snapper upfront.
Storage
The Redmi Note comes with 8GB internal storage with an option to expand it via microSD card. While the Yureka too has 16GB internal storage, which is expandable via microSD card.
Battery
On the battery front, the Redmi Note edges ahead with a 3,200mAh battery, while the Yureka has to make do with a 2,500mAh battery.
Software
This is where the two smartphones differ the most. While the Redmi Note 4G runs on Android KitKat wrapped under MIUI v6, the Yureka runs on Cyanogen OS 11 which too is also built over Android KitKat. The latter offers several customizing features including themes, menu and font changing options and much more. Xiaomi hasn’t mentioned when it will be rolling out the Lollipop-based custom build, but Yu has assured thatYureka will be the first handset to get its Lollipop version.
